The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ruth Brown can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Weight Acceptance

When I first Met Ma, I was very small.  As the months and years went by, each time we would viist Ma would always comment, 'Oh Trisha I see you lost some weight'  or 'Oh Trish looks like you put on a little weight'.  So throughout the years I have put on more weight than not.  One summer Ma said, 'Trisha are you losing weight'?  I replied, 'I wish, I am pretty sure I gained' (with a sad face).  So Ma said, 'Ain't nothing wrong with your size, you are still beautiful, If you want to be big there is nothing wrong with that'.  (^_^)  I said thanks Ma, (with a big smile and some laughter).
