The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ruth Brown can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

When Remembering Goes Wrong...

Years ago, David and I were visting Ma in SC at Auntee's.  David would always remember stories about Ma and explain how she did not take any foolishness.  Well, he would tell the story and ask, Ma you remember right?  Ma would reply, I don't know what you are talking about.  So David said that she was just trying to make sure her seat in Heaven was secure and did not want to divulge past moments.  Then one day, David was joking around and just kept teasing Ma and joking until he got on her last nerve.  Ma put her fist up and waved it asking..do you want me to give you a fat lip?  In true form David replied, 'theres the Ma I know and love'!  :-)
