Obituary for Estella Tuck

Estella Tuck
The life and times of Estella Brown Privett Tuck, her children and grandchildren affectionately knew her as granny over a span of 92 years.

Her passing is the end of an era and a new one for many of us. In fact most of her childhood friends, family members and extended family have already joined the ancestral circle.

Grace and mercy allowed our mother to live many years beyond the passing of her father Oris Brown and mother Martha Ann Upchurch Brown of Wendell, North Carolina, son Mack McCoy Privett, grandson Michael Andrew Lilley both of Jamaica New York, sisters Lucille Robbins, Minnie Privett, Margie Ferrell, Ostine Gillespie, brother James Brown of Wendell, North Carolina.

Estella Tuck was born February 5, 1922 in Wendell, North Carolina. As a young woman she left Wendell, North Carolina and relocated to Rockville, Centre, New York. There she worked as a housekeeper until her daughter had her to resign at the age of fifty to stay home and care for her two grandchildren, who she loved dearly.

She was a regular member of Blanche Memorial Church of Jamaica, New York before taking ill in December 2000,

The heavens opened up on Sunday night, February 1, 2015 and the angels sang out. The call was made for her to come home.

Estella Brown Privett Tuck is survived by one sister Rosalee Bradsher, of Wake Forest, North Carolina; a devoted daughter Mary Lilley; sons James Privett, Saul Privett; grandson Walter Venson of Jamaica, New York; granddaughter Debra Lilley of Alexandria, Virginia; great granddaughter Jasmine Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

As we say goodbye to our mother, we say goodbye to a generation of loved ones who have kept us. Thank you, Thank you, May you all rest in peace.
