Obituary for Theodosia M. Palmer

Theodosia M. Palmer
Theodosia Margaret Palmer was born on October 22, 1928 to James and Rosa Bell Tinsley in Leaksville, North Caroline. She was the only daughter out of six sons. As a child Theodosia and her family moved to New York City. She received her education in the New York City public school system. She then met her husband Robert Palmer with whom she had three daughters, Roberta McKee, Deborah Johnson and Joyce Palmer.

She worked at various jobs, one being Kings County hospital for a number of years, then she went on to the NYC Postal Servive where she retired from.

At that time she began enjoying her retirement by spending time with her family on vacations, at barbecues and going to the beach. Theodosia was a loving person and a no nonsense woman. She loved her family very much. Everybody loved to come to her house on Sundays, because they knew she would be cooking friend chicken.

As time passed, Theodosia had failing health until her timely departure on September 13, 2014 at Margaret Tietz Nursing Home.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Palmer; daughter, Deborah Johnson; her parents James and Rosa Bell Tinsley and her brothers, Leroy, Donell and Pete Tinsley.

Theodosia leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories and celebrate her life, her daughters, Roberta McKee (Theodore McKee), Joyce Palmer; granddaughters, Veronica McKee, Victoria McKee; brothers, Mark Tinsley, JB Tinsley; sister-in-laws, Esther Tinsley, Marie Tinsley, Edith Tinsley and Thyra Tinsley; adopted daughter, Lisa Thompson and adopted grandson, Juwan Thompson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
