Obituary for Willis A. Hester

Willis A.  Hester
Mr. Willis A. Hester was born October 28, 1940 to the late Mr. Eddie Lee and Mrs. Pattie Hester in Somerville, Tennessee. He professed hope in Christ at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. L.L. Carter at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He graduated form Fayette County Training High School.

He later moved to New York where he was employed at Ideal Toy Factory where he met and later married Regina Delores Clark. From this union they were blessed with one son, Rodney Clark Hester and he was intrusted with the care of Ruth Walker, Elnora Davis, Brenda Clark and Khabir Furgan.

Mr. Willis Hester enjoyed sports, coached, played and sponsored many softball leagues around the neighborhood. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, Katierra Clark and Xavier Clark, There wasn’t a day where you would ride by the house and see him sitting outside with his grandkids.

Willis entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. He leaves to cherish precious and treasured memories his son, Rodney Clark Hester; his grandkids, Xavier Clark, Katierra Clark; daughter-in-law, Wantu Salters and her daughters Krystal and Kristine Ingram; five sisters, Mrs. Helen O. Pirlle of Dancyville, TN, Mrs. Elnora Marie Thomas (Willie) and Ms. Nancy Marie Hester of Memphis, TN, Mrs. Juanita Franklin of ; Mrs. Barbara Hester of Chicago, IL; one brother, Mr. Bobby Lee Hester also of Chicago, IL; his godson George Finnie, Jr. a dear cousin Mrs. Mary Sue Gadger-Cleckley of New York and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
