Loretta Baldwin Washington was born on August 11, 1935 in Blackberry, North Carolina. She was the oldest of two children born to the parents of Willie Mae Baldwin and Gallie Baldwin. Loretta Baldwin Washington passed away on September 7, 2014 unexpectedly, but God knows best.

She was wedded to the late Edward S. Washington in New York City on January 2, 1994. Shortly after they were married they both gave their lives to the Lord. They became active members at the First Central Baptist Church in Staten Island, NY where they were active members for over eleven years.

Loretta Baldwin Washington went on to become a Clerical Aide for The City of New York after she passed a test for a Clerical Associate Worker. She was also a Shop Stewardess for years before she retired.

Loretta was a woman of great pride and a true believer in the Lord. She was an inspiration to all, along with her sparkling smile.

The Lord called her home unexpectedly to be with Him. Loretta Baldwin Washington was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she enjoyed the sweet songs of Zion and was involved in the Virginia Ministry.

Loretta was also affiliated with the Allen Senior Citizens Center on a daily basis. Fridays were her favorite day, it was Bingo Day. She was an avid lover of the game show Family Feud. After the demise of her husband, Loretta relocated to Jamaica Queens, New York to reside with her son Michael. Those who knew her and those who didn’t, she was a loving, caring and giving person and kind to all.

She leaves behind her two children, Michael Carlyle and Beverly Carlyle Robinson and her husband Andre Robinson; grandchildren, Anthony Swift his wife Melanie Swift, Abdukadir Ango his wife, Summers Ango, Mohammed Ango his wife Starr Ango, Halimatu Butts her husband, Wellington Butts, Michael Carlyle, Jr, and Hamisu Ango; Loretta was blessed with twenty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one adopted daughter, Michelle McQueen; along with a host of relatives and friends.
