Obituary for Minnie Howard

On September 22, 2013, Minnie Pearl Person Howard-Lewis peacefully entered into eternal rest at the Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York

Minnie was born to the late Edward Person and Josephine Johnson on February 12, 1946 in Franklin County, North Carolina. At an early age she joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Kittrell, North Carolina where she remained a member until she graduated from Perry High School in 1964. Minnie moved to New York and lived with he two older sisters.

Minnie was employed at Air Techniques, Inc. for forty years until she retired in 2011. She worshipped at many churches before joining Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Jamaica, NY. She worked faithfully in the church and was a member of the Pastors Aide Ministry.

Minnie met and married Lester Howard and from this union a son was born named Ricky. Lester and Ricky preceded her in death.

In the late eighties Minnie married Glenn Lewis. Minnie was a loving sister and aunt that did all she could for everyone.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Glenn Lewis; three grandchildren, Riana, Rikki and Tyler; two step-grands, Colby and Corbin; one sister, Neomia Medley of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers, Theodore Person of Jersey City, Robert and Edward Person from Jamaica, NY; one daughter-in-law, Tracey Howard; seven sister-in-laws, Sandra, Eula, Alma, Elaine, Hazel, Ester and Priscilla; one brother-in-law, Cecil along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many, many friends who loved her.
