Obituary for Dorothy Glover

In the early hours of Saturday, March 7, 2015 the almighty God called his daughter, Dorothy Glover to join him from the labors of this world to peace everlasting.

Dorothy Glover was born on April 15, 1943 in Panama City, Florida to the late Johnny and Mattie Crawford. Eventually, she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she attended Girls High School and received her education. She participated in the Auxiliary Education Career Program as an Educational Assistant at PS 145. Later on, she began a career as a Key Punch Operator with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and subsequently attained a position as a Data Entry Supervisor.

Dorothy married James Glover and relocated from Brooklyn, NY to Jamaica, Queens in 1970. Here, she raised her children while managing a successful career at Metlife.

Dorothy was kind, generous, loving, caring, tenacious, strong willed with a great sense of humor and never acquiescing to defeat. She was always full of surprises. Even though she is not here laughing, moments with her will never be forgotten.

Those left behind to cherish her precious and treasured memories are James Glover, Reginald Hemmings; two children, Anthony Q. Crawford and Latonya C. Glover; one daughter-in-law, Amy Crawford and son-in- law Daawud Abdullah Mustafa; grandchildren, Anthony Crawford Jr., Jonathan Crawford, Khristina Crawford, Brooklin Crawford, Madison Crawford, Terell St. Clair and Antonio Pena; great grandchildren, Josiah, Harmony, lil Tommy, Terell, Tiana and Taylin; two sisters, Emma Crawford and Catherine Draper; two sisters-in-law, Ruth and Edith along with a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
