Obituary for Diane P. Cameron

Patricia Diane Cameron was born on September 15, 1957, in Jamaica, Queens, NY. Diane was the second child born to Jessie and Inez Cameron. Diane received her diploma from Hillcrest High School. She was awarded honors in voice and singing.

Diane worked for the Department of Environmental Protection for 27 years as a Computer Liaison and through the years she established longtime friendships with her co-workers who became like her extended family.
Diane was truly and wholeheartedly an animal lover. There were many animals in her household starting with cats named “Puff” and one named “Fuzzy”. There was a love bird name “Chickee Baby” and two dogs Tanya and Sheeba.

Diane also liked to give nick-names to everyone such as the name “Molelark” to her sister Karen and “Mainie” to her nephew Tramaine, there was the name “Schnookie” to her son Tron and “Nina Beana” to her niece and Vinie to her husband.

Diane was the background vocalist for “Kool and the Gang” and sang on the songs like “Ladies Night”, “Joanna”, “Cherish the Love” and “Summer Madness” and many other popular hit songs. Diane also traveled on tour with singer Evelyn “Champagne” King, and toured around the world with the ex-heavyweight champion of the world Joe Frazier.

Diane also had a host of friends that included Debbie McGriff and Annette Netto who were there until the end. She made Debbie the Godmother of her son Tron.

Diane lived her life for her family, she deeply loved her son Tron Bobian Jr. and her husband Harvey “Divine” Grate. She will be truly missed. She leaves to mourn her husband, Harvey “Divine” Grate and son, Walter Tron Bobian; her loving sister, Karen Michelle Cameron; nephew, Tramaine Porter and niece, Nina Cameron;along with a host of family and friends.
