Obituary for Clarence T. "Gabby" Gadson

Brother Clarence Gadson (nicknamed “Gabby”) was born December 10, 1933 in Flushing, New York. He had three brothers and one sister. Two have preceded him in death except Leroy Gadson and Mollie Lloyd. Clarence attended various public schools.

On March 26, 1961 he married the late Janet Gadson. Eventually they settled in South Ozone Park, New York where they raised one daughter, Lynette and two sons, Jeffrey (preceded him in death) and Gregory. Clarence worked at various jobs, whether it was hanging lights on the Christmas tree at Rockerfeller Center, or changing lights in very tall buildings, he always kept a job. His family always came first. We will always remember his gift of Gab because he was always a talker and held endless conversations. That’s why he was given the nick name “Gabby”.

Brother Clarence attended Mt. Carmel AME Church in Brooklyn, NY under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Kenneth John. Clarence was faithful to his God and to his church. He was truly a Willing Worker for the Lord. If you needed something done he was the guy to get it done. He always kept his neighborhood immaculately clean.

Brother Clarence Gadson went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2014. Left to celebrate and cherish his memory is his daughter, Lynette Foster; his son Gregory Gadson; grandson Kabreem Foster; sister Molly Lloyd; brother Leroy Gadson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will always remember him.
